Position: Operations Officer – Export & Local Sales

Sector: Agribusiness (Fruits, Vegetables, Kaba Flours & Coffee)

Location: Nation-wide (frequent travel to rural production zones)

Position Summary:
 

The Operations Officer will oversee all operational activities related to the export and local sales of company products. This includes managing supply chains, coordinating logistics, ensuring quality compliance, and supervising market operations. The successful candidate will lead operational execution to ensure efficiency and profitability across the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and manage export logistics and documentation (compliance with export standards).
  • Oversee local sales operations, supporting and expanding sales networks across all regions.
  • Maintain and monitor inventory and warehouse management in collaboration with the logistics team.
  • Conduct market research and develop strategies to expand regional and international market presence.
  • Ensure quality control and regulatory compliance for all products.
  • Prepare regular operational and sales reports for management review.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (production, finance, sales, logistics).
  • Build and maintain business relationships with customers, distributors, and external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Minimum age: 35 years old.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Agribusiness, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
  • At least 5 years of proven experience in agribusiness operations, export logistics, or local agricultural markets.
  • Strong knowledge of the agricultural value chain, especially fruits, vegetables, coffee, or grain-based products.
  • Ability to travel frequently nationwide and work in rural environments.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and team leadership skills.
  • Fluent in English and Kinyarwanda (French is an added advantage).
  • Proficient computer skills (MS Office, inventory systems, etc.).
