PLAY International in Rwanda opened its mission in 2024 and is looking for a Program Assistant.
The company is due to take up its post in March 2026.
Workplace: RWANDA - Kigali - Gasabo; travel to the districts of intervention is to be expected.

PLAY International is a French NGO founded in 1999 on the conviction that sport is a source of solutions to our social challenges. PLAY International's main mission is to design and implement education and inclusion projects for children and young people in vulnerable situations, using sport as a pedagogical tool. The NGO works in particular on issues such as access to and retention in school, equality between girls and boys, community reconciliation, health prevention - eating well - moving well - sleeping well - using screens well, changing attitudes to disability... Since its creation, PLAY International has implemented educational and humanitarian projects in France and abroad in over 20 countries, benefiting nearly 1 million children. Today, the association has 7 countries in Burundi, DRC, France, Kosovo, Indian Ocean, Senegal and Rwanda. PLAY International is a member of Groupe SOS.

Responsibilities and missions
Under the supervision of the Programs Manager, the Program Assistant will be responsible for facilitating the implementation of activities contained in one or more PLAY projects in Rwanda.
To fulfill his/her duties, the project assistant will be in contact with the rest of the Office Rwanda team, which is made up of a country representative, a program manager, a pedagogical coordinator, and an administration & finance officer.
1. Project management
- Collaborate with the team to plan, execute, and evaluate programs and events
- Support program activities, including preparing materials and resources, coordinating logistics, and communicating with participants
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure programs align with company goals and objectives
- Contribute to the drafting of terms of reference, activity reports, and project implementation reports
- Assist with the logistical and material implementation of project activities (ordering, delivery, communication materials, etc.)
- Assist with budget management and reporting
2. MEAL, Monitoring & Evaluation
- Assist TOUTES EN SPORT program in monitoring and evaluating activity indicators
- Ensure that monitoring & evaluation tools are updated (forms, tables and lists are completed), in close collaboration with the program manager and the educational coordinator
- Participate in monitoring activities in schools and clubs through field visits and follow-up meetings then produce visit reports
- Conduct thematic research to stay current on best practices and contribute to program development and improvement
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date program records and data
3. Communication
- Contribute to program outreach efforts, such as social media and campaigns.
- Ensure the visibility of the project and the office on social media (Twitter + LinkedIn) in conjunction with headquarters and the rest of the team in Rwanda.
- Events: handle the logistical, organizational, and material aspects of events organized by the program (open days, international days, community mobilization)
- Produce PLAY Rwanda communication materials, like brochures, flyers, power points, presentations, annual report.
4. Cross-functional support for country office development
- Assist headquarters or the office in drafting communications, development, or advocacy documents related to Rwanda
- Assist in drafting project proposals (for calls for proposals) or reports (for donor reporting)
Training
Bachelor's degree in humanitarian / development / NGO project management
Skills required
- Experience in program management ; event planning is an asset
- Excellent command of social media and digital communication
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software (Canva, etc)
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal in Kinyarwanda and in English; French is a plus
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and pay close attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience
The candidate will have at least five years’ experience in monitoring or implementing sports or gender-related projects.
This experience will have enabled him/her to develop these MANDATORY following experiences:
- Experience in corporate communications via social networks (precise which one in your letter)
- Operational experience in an NGO or CSO : in educational projects or projects related to children/young people or experience of gender equality issues in the sports sector
Conditions
Start date: Mid-March 2026
Local contract of 40 hours per week with 1.75 days off/month; Health insurance.
Gross monthly salary: RWF 1,300,000
Position based: at PLAY Rwanda office, Rugando, GASABO - KIGALI
