TENDER NOTICE FOR THE Global Leadership in Nursing and Midwifery Fellowship Coach
The University of Global Health Equity (UGHE), an accredited institution ranked fourth among Sub-Saharan African universities by Times Higher Education, is a transformative academic institution owned by Partners In Health (PIH), a global social justice organization dedicated to providing preferential healthcare for vulnerable and poor communities. UGHE’s mission is to radically change the way health care is delivered worldwide by training the next generation of health professionals to advocate for and serve vulnerable communities effectively. The Centre for Nursing and Midwifery at UGHE offers academic programs, fellowship courses including the Global Leadership in Nursing and Midwifery (GLNM), and short courses designed to equip graduate nurses and interprofessional team members with innovative competencies to address the needs of poor and marginalized populations.
The GLNM Fellowship is a nine-month, blended-learning program aimed at cultivating global nursing and midwifery leaders. The fellowship is structured in three phases:
Phase 1: A one-week in-person intensive workshop at UGHE’s Butaro campus.
Phase 2: 24 weeks of weekly online interactive lectures, mentorship, and a mentored quality improvement (QI) project.
Phase 3: A final one-week in-person intensive workshop, culminating in a certificate conferment ceremony.
GLNM fellows develop competencies in strategic leadership, communication, collaboration, transformative and change leadership, governance, evidence-based decision-making, diversity and inclusion, and systems thinking. The fellowship emphasizes practical application through a mentored QI project, fostering leadership that drives systemic improvements in health care delivery. To support fellows in achieving these outcomes, UGHE seeks a GLNM Coach to guide a cohort of three (3) to five (5) fellows through concept development, QI project implementation, dissemination, and personal and professional growth. The coach will apply the best international practices in academic coaching and mentorship.
